About
A matching service, built around one coastline
We connect coastal North Carolina homeowners with independent local roofing professionals. We never install a roof, and we never charge the homeowner.
Who operates this site
The entity behind the brand
Coastal Carolina Metal Roofing is operated by Compass Camper LLC, an Oregon-registered marketing company doing business as Compass Lead Group. We are not a roofing contractor and do not perform roofing work. What we operate is this website: a research resource and a free matching service for homeowners in New Hanover, Brunswick, Onslow, and Carteret counties who are planning metal roofing and FORTIFIED Roof projects.
What we actually do
Research first, then one introduction
Most of this site is education: how a metal roof earns the FORTIFIED designation, what the NCIUA programs have funded, why Galvalume warranties stop near breaking surf, and what standing seam work runs on this coast. Every claim on those pages cites a primary source, because storm protection and insurance money are exactly the topics where secondhand numbers go wrong.
When you submit the match form or call, we forward your details to an independent local roofing professional who works your area and your kind of project. That professional contacts you directly, quotes the work directly, and contracts with you directly if you hire them. We are paid a referral fee by the professional, never by you, and the fee does not change your price. The full mechanics are on the How We Make Money page.
The bar we set
What we ask of the professionals we refer
North Carolina requires a general contractor license only when a project costs $40,000 or more, so a blanket "licensed" label would be meaningless for smaller roofing jobs. We use objective criteria instead. Professionals we refer are asked to:
- Hold a current NC general contractor license for projects at or above the $40,000 threshold in G.S. 87-1
- Carry current general liability insurance and provide certificates on request
- Provide written, itemized estimates before any work begins
- Offer written workmanship warranties on completed work
- Document panel design-pressure test reports when a FORTIFIED designation is the goal
Verify all of it yourself. Our guides link the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors lookup and the FORTIFIED professional directory, and we would rather you check than take anyone's word, including ours.
What you will not find here
No manufactured trust
This site carries no reviews, no testimonials, no team photos, and no years-in-business counters, because we have none to honestly show. The trust we offer is verifiable instead: primary-source citations on every factual claim, and verification steps you can run on any contractor before signing. Questions about how any of this works reach us at [email protected].
